VISIT

IMG-6584.jpg

Our cats will be happy to see you!  It is best to schedule an appointment ahead of time but walk-ins are welcome if space is available. Please schedule with the above link or call 505-508-4278.

Hours are 11am-8pm Wednesdays and 11am-5pm Fridays-Sundays. We can book private groups during off-hours.

When you come in, the vestibule doors will only open one at a time to help keep the cats safe inside. You can check in then enjoy cat happiness!  We have cat-themed merchandise and drinks and snacks. We have free WiFi and plenty of charging stations. We have lots of cat toys to entertain the cats which, in turn, will entertain us.

Please leave your own cats at home as we don’t know how they would interact with the cats here.  But do show us photos of your cats – we love to see cute cats!

There is a $12/hour admission for this unique and fun experience in a comfy environment. Groups with kids under 8 years old can purchase a maximum of 30 minutes admission for $7/person. Our small entry fee helps us cover rent, wages, utilities, food, and supplies for the large open home for our kitties. 100% of adoption proceeds go directly to our shelter and rescue partners to help them cover medical care and vetting costs.

We have a few rules to keep everyone happy and safe:

- When making a reservation, please read all the details.

- Please be gentle with the cats and do not pick them up to ensure you do not get scratched.

- If a tail starts flicking or a cat acts irritable, please give them some space.

- Our cats love that you want to take their pictures!  Just please do not use a flash.  Be sure to tag us -

Facebook @catopiacafe and Instagram @catopiacatcafe.

    Thank you!

We require that visitors be respectful and gentle with the cats. This is the cats' temporary home and they need to feel safe and happy here.

We will be closed on the following holidays:  Easter, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

ADOPTION INFO

Catopia Cat Cafe follows the adoption policies of Albuquerque Animal Welfare, Bernalillo County Animal Care Center, and our rescue group partners to ensure happy, successful life-long adoptions for cats and adopters alike.  We have adoption applications that you can fill out at Catopia. Please understand that the final decision on adoptions is made by adoption counselors from the group the cat is from and can take a few days. We do not provide same-day adoptions. If you do not find the cat you are looking for, our partners have many more cats (and dogs too!) that are wonderful and adoptable.

We recommend taking your new family member to your veterinarian or, if you don’t have one yet, we highly recommend Dr. Kacie Martin of VCA WyomingKokopelli Animal Clinic, La Cueva Animal Hospital, and Albuquerque Cat Clinic. Most veterinary offices offer free first exams when adopting a rescue or shelter cat.

If your current pets do not welcome your new cat or you cannot keep the cat you adopted for any reason, please let us know and we can offer assistance or help get them back to our place to find them another home.

Adoption fee payments may be cash or check and will go directly to the shelter or rescue group to help more animals in their care. The adoption fee includes: spay/neuter surgery, testing for FeLV and FIV, microchip, FVRCP vaccination, Rabies vaccination, and other preventative care.
